Arms Crossed

Arms folded across a broad white chest, an albino gorilla stands at the centre of a crowd of black gorillas and stares straight out. Its face is pale, with pink-rimmed yellow eyes and a pink nose; every gorilla around it has the same yellow eyes, some looking at the viewer, some sideways. The fur is softly rendered in 3D, and the top third is plain, unlit black.

Bright white against charcoal and black, with small yellow sparks for eyes, gives a dark, deadpan mood. The empty black above lets the white figure rise out of the crowd, and the faces packed into the lower half pull you back down. At 9 × 18 in each face holds up to inspection. Good in a moody lounge or office.
