The Beagle on the Plinth
Long black ears frame a beagle pup sitting square on a low plinth, head tipped up and to one side. Its eyes and mouth are rimmed in red, and its coat is built from dense black cross-hatching and rows of dots rather than shading. Behind it, a framed red panel carries hand-cut glyphs: a circle, a cross, an A-like peak. A margin of warm cream paper surrounds everything.
Signal red, black and off-white keep it bold and graphic, with nothing soft in the mix. The dog fills most of the height, its gaze leading up to the glyphs at the top while the striped plinth grounds the bottom. Large, the carved-looking marks get rougher and better.
