The short version: the pxCream app has no accounts, no ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics. We use a random identifier for your device so we can keep your credits, subscription and unlocked wallpapers in sync. That’s it. This website (pxcream.com) uses Google Analytics to count visits; see section 4. If you order a print, we need your name, address, email and phone number to get it to you; see “Print orders” below.
This policy explains what information the pxCream iOS app (“pxCream”, “the app”) handles and why, and how we handle the details you give us when you order a print on pxcream.com. pxCream is operated by OnSilent Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia (ABN 30 676 886 623) (“we”, “us”). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we handle
Random device identifier
When you first open the app, it creates a random identifier. It is stored in your device’s secure Keychain and sent to our backend (hosted on Amazon Web Services) with requests that need it. It is not your name, email, Apple ID, phone number or advertising identifier, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites. Its only purpose is to recognise your installation so your credits, subscription status and unlocked wallpapers belong to it.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple. We never see your payment card or Apple ID details. When you buy credits or the Unlimited subscription, the app sends the transaction information signed by Apple (such as the product, transaction ID and purchase date) to our backend. We verify it and use it to grant credits or Unlimited access, to prevent fraud and to support restoring purchases.
Credit balance and unlock history
We store your credit balance and a record of which premium wallpapers you have unlocked, with the time of each unlock. This lets you download an unlocked wallpaper again and lets us resolve support requests.
Technical request data
Like any internet service, our servers and our hosting provider receive standard technical data when the app connects, such as your IP address, the time of the request and the app version. We use it only to operate, secure and debug the service. It is kept in short-lived server logs.
Print orders
When you buy a print on pxcream.com, we collect your name, shipping address, email address and phone number, along with what you ordered. Checkout is run by Stripe, which collects these details and your payment card; we never see your full card number. We use your details only to fulfil the order: to print and deliver it, to send you receipts and tracking details, and to help if something goes wrong. We share them only with Stripe (payment) and Artelo (printing and delivery, in the United States). The cart on the website is kept in your own browser until you check out.
Information that stays on your device
Your liked wallpapers, download history, preferences and the image cache are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us. You can clear the image cache in Settings → Clear Image Cache, and deleting the app removes the rest.
2. Photo library
pxCream asks for permission to add photos to your library, and uses it only to save wallpapers that you choose to download. The app does not read, upload or analyse the photos in your library.
3. What we don’t do
- No user accounts in the app, and the app doesn’t ask for your name, email or phone number. (We only ask for these when you order a print.)
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- No tracking as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, and no data brokers.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
4. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run pxCream, under contracts that restrict their use of it:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, database and content delivery. Data may be stored in the United States (AWS us-east-1, North Virginia).
- Apple: payment processing and purchase verification, under Apple’s own privacy policy.
- Stripe: payment for print orders, under Stripe’s own privacy policy.
- Artelo: printing and delivery of print orders, in the United States. Artelo receives the name, address and contact details it needs to deliver your order.
This website
pxcream.com uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they view. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can block it with your browser’s cookie or tracking settings, or with Google’s opt-out add-on. None of this applies to the pxCream app, which does not include Google Analytics.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. Retention
We keep your device identifier, credit balance, purchase records and unlock history for as long as you use the app, and for up to 24 months of inactivity after that. We may keep purchase records for longer when tax or accounting laws require it. Print order records (what you ordered, your shipping details and payment confirmation) are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.
6. Your choices and deleting your data
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@pxcream.com. Our support team will tell you how to find the identifier we need to locate your records. Deleting your data also removes your remaining credits and unlock history, and this cannot be undone. Deleting your data does not cancel an active subscription. Manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). If you live in the EU, UK or another region with data protection laws, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your local authority.
7. Children
pxCream is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
The identifier is kept in the iOS Keychain, all traffic to our backend uses HTTPS, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
