Spotted Giants

Solid black long-necked dinosaurs wander across white paper, each with a small smiling face and a rounded back speckled in white spots. Some carry jagged spines down their tails. They overlap the edges of the frame, so it reads as a cut from a larger repeat. Between them sit fern sprigs, berry stems, tiny starbursts and leaf pairs, all cut in the same chunky ink.

Black and white only, with no greys to soften it, so the pattern holds from across a room. The necks run vertically, which suits the tall shape and keeps the eye climbing. At 9 × 18 in the hand-cut wobble of each spot is visible. It sits happily in a nursery or beside other monochrome prints.
