No. 073, in 24 platesCute Dino
Twenty-four dinosaurs with big eyes, small arms, and absolutely no plans for world domination.
Cute Dino is drawn in loose ink line with flat colour, the kind of cartoon that looks dashed off and isn't. It runs in two families. The first nine plates are soft pastels, sage and parchment, with a chubby green T. rex as the lead. The other fifteen turn up the heat to mustard, ochre and olive, and widen the cast. What holds both together is the eyes: huge, round and slightly anxious, on every single animal.
The sage plates are a small domestic drama. The T. rex stands guard beside terracotta pots, eyes a butterfly over a flowering shrub, cradles a seedling, sits in a tuft of grass watching a dragonfly, and in one plate peers round a door frame with a mouthful of pink teeth. The mustard plates are a roll call: brachiosaurs with necks that go on for ever, stegosaurs bristling with leafy plates, two triceratops, an orange T. rex grinning on olive green, and a tall orange creature with a ridge of spines standing in long grass against a brick-red sky.
Nearly every plate leaves the top third empty, a flat field of sage, parchment or mustard. That is generous for the clock and for Lock Screen widgets, and the animals sit low enough to stay clear of both. The tall long-necks are the exception, their heads climbing into the clock zone. On a Home Screen the pastel plates are pale, so white app labels want a sparser grid; the mustard and olive grounds hold white text better and stay cheerful in dark mode.
For children's phones, for teachers, and for adults who never quite left the dinosaur phase. The Gardener, Startled, Dragonfly Picnic, Over the Ledge, Lime Lookout and Big Belly are free in full resolution; the other eighteen dinosaurs are premium.
The T. rex has taken up gardening, and it is going quite well.
Try each one on before you save it.
Tap any plate to hang it on the Lock Screen, then switch to the Home Screen to see it behind your apps. This is the same preview the app gives you, on your own phone, with your own clock.
Every plate here can be ordered as an unframed matte print, from A$59 with free shipping. Or hang three side by side: any three plates from Cute Dino, 8 × 16 in each, for A$179.

How Cute Dino wears.
Playful, gentle, sunny, goofy. Ink-line cartoon with flat colour, sized for every iPhone up to 2160 × 4800.
On the Lock Screen
The sage plates leave a wide empty sky above the T. rex, so the clock and widgets float on plain colour.
On the Home Screen
A mustard or olive plate suits a full grid: white labels stay legible and the dinosaur stands in the lower half, peeking between icon rows.
Full resolution, every model
Each plate is delivered at the exact size of your iPhone's screen, up to 2160 × 4800, so nothing is stretched or soft at the edges.

About Cute Dino.
Can I put Cute Dino on my kid's phone?
Yes. Nothing here is frightening: even the toothiest T. rex is grinning. The flat backgrounds also keep app icons easy to pick out.
Which Cute Dino plates are the calmest?
The sage family, especially The Little Pine and Wallflower: one small dinosaur, one plant at most, and acres of plain green.
Are the dinosaurs real species?
They are cartoon takes on familiar types, brachiosaur-style long-necks, stegosaurs, triceratops and T. rex, plus a few invented creatures. Nobody would mistake them for museum reconstructions.
