Ears Still Up

A black rabbit lies flat with its chin on its front paws, eyes shut as two thin pale crescents. Its long ears still stand straight up, one leaning slightly outward. The body runs off the right edge, so only head, shoulders and paws are inside the frame. Fine flicked strokes along the edges suggest fur and whiskers, and a few warm brown lines catch light within the black.

Solid black against apricot yellow, with nothing else to compete. The ears stand in the middle of the height, leaving empty yellow above and below, which makes the rabbit feel settled and still. Larger prints show each whisker stroke. It suits a nursery, a bedroom above the bed or a calm reading chair corner.
