Cat. 037.2 · Fluffy Coffee
First Cup
A tall, shaggy creature covered head to toe in coral-pink fur stands square to the viewer, holding a sage-green mug against its chest with both hands. Its heavy-lidded eyes and flat little mouth say it is not ready to talk yet. Every strand of fur is drawn in fine pencil lines, and a small speckled shadow pools under its bare feet on plain cream paper.
Coral, cream and a single note of sage keep the palette soft and morning-coloured. The figure runs almost the full height of the print, eyes in the upper third, feet just above the bottom margin. Lots of open cream around it lets the fur texture breathe. It belongs near the kettle, the coffee machine or a breakfast nook.
Hangs well a kitchen wall near the coffee machine
