Message in a Bottle

An orange, fish-tailed airship with a small rotor puffing smoke on its back hovers high in the frame, lowering a curtain of thin cables. Beneath it a giant orange bottle with a black cap rises straight out of curling purple waves, their crests breaking into white foam and orange droplets. Tight, scalloped clouds drift across a khaki sky. Bold woodcut-style hatching outlines every shape.

Orange, lavender purple and khaki, with black linework, make it playful and a little absurd. The cables tie the airship at the top to the bottle at the bottom, so the eye runs straight down the centre. A large print shows the hatching in the waves. It suits a bathroom or a kitchen with a sense of humour.
