Avenue of Furrows
A small sports coupe drives away from us down a road drawn entirely in curving parallel lines, its rear window, tail lamps and blank number plate outlined in single black strokes. Two clumps of leafy trees close in from either side partway up. In the upper left, a set of long vertical lines drops from the top edge, and two little spiral suns sit beside them.
Black line on warm cream, with no fill or shading at all. The road lines sweep from the bottom up into the trees, and then the frame opens into almost empty sky, so the eye travels the full height. At 9 × 18 in every leaf outline is visible. It suits a calm study or a hallway.
Hangs well a calm study or a narrow hallway
