Coral and Teal Scatter

Looking straight down onto the sand, you see a scatter of open beach umbrellas striped coral and white or teal and white, each casting a cross-hatched pencil shadow. Between them lie two striped deckchairs, rumpled coral and teal towels, scallop shells, a striped ball and two pairs of sandals. In the top right corner a woman in teal shorts walks past, the only person in view.

Coral, mint teal and cream with soft grey hatching. The umbrellas tumble down the full height of the tall frame, so there is no single focal point, just a stroll from top to bottom. Pencil texture shows up nicely at 9 × 18 in. Bring it into a bathroom, a beach house or a sunny hallway.
