Side Passage

Out of near darkness, a smooth plaster wall glows orange as a passage bends away to the right. The light comes from an opening at the far end, so bright it burns white, and it washes the floor amber before fading to deep red at the bottom edge. A dark, cool-toned wall closes off the right side. Fine grain shows in the surfaces, like a photoreal architectural render.

Black, tangerine, amber and ember red make it moody and minimal. The top quarter is empty dark, so the eye goes straight to the white opening and then follows the glow down the floor. At 9 × 18 in it reads almost like a light source on the wall. It suits a dim hallway or a media room.
