Cat. 091.3 · Mongolian Plains
Flock by the Ger
Ten white sheep graze on a bright green slope in the lower third, one wandering off alone to the right. Beside them stands a round white ger with a dark doorway and a thin stovepipe on its roof. Behind, smooth emerald hills fold and curve into the distance. Above them a huge cloud bank rises like a quilted dome against deep blue, every part laid on in short, swirling strokes.
Emerald, bottle green, cobalt and chalky white, with blue flecks worked through the grass. Each band sits in its own layer: cloud at the top, hills in the middle, flock and ger at the bottom. The brushy texture becomes the star at 9 × 18 in. It brightens a living room, a child's bedroom or a calm study.
Hangs well a living room or a child's bedroom
