Corner Rails

Seen from above, a pair of polished chrome grab rails curve over the corner of a pool deck and drop into the water. The deck is soft coral with a sandy, speckled surface, edged in thick mustard-yellow coping. Below the rails, the ladder rungs fade into turquoise water. Sunlight throws a wiggling net of white ripples across the pool surface above. It reads like a miniature model, smooth and slightly toy-like.

Turquoise, coral and butter yellow give the scene a sunny, nostalgic calm. Water fills the top third, so the eye starts in the ripples and follows the rails down into the blocky deck. At 9 × 18 in the grainy texture of the coping becomes visible. It suits a bathroom, a beach house or a room with pastel furniture.
