Antelope on the Rock
A carved stone antelope lies on top of a granite boulder, legs folded beneath it and neck held tall. Its two long horns sweep back in smooth parallel curves, and its face is simple, with a carved eye and a small closed mouth. The rock below has a single crack running across it, and a dark hill slope edges in from the left. Heavy grain gives the photograph a sepia, halftone look.
Sepia cream, warm grey and deep charcoal, quiet and earthy. The sculpture sits in the middle with plain sky above and dark rock below, so the horns lead the eye up toward the top. Larger prints show the coarse grain clearly. It suits a study, a reading room or a wall of travel photographs.
Hangs well a study or beside travel photographs
