Morning Mug

At a pale wooden desk, a woman in a ribbed red jumper sips from a white mug while her other hand rests on a laptop keyboard, hair pulled up in a loose bun. She sits on a cross-braced chair in tan trousers and red heels. Around her, shelves climb the wall with books, a kettle, potted plants and framed botanical sketches, plus a wall clock and pinned notes, crossed by a diagonal shaft of sunlight.

Rust, terracotta, cream and sage make it cosy, sunlit and domestic. The busy shelves fill the upper half, so the eye works down through the clutter to her at the desk. A big print brings out the dry-brush texture in the leaves and books. It belongs in a home office, a study nook or above a desk.
