Over the Shoulder

Seen from below, a young woman turns to look back over her shoulder, half smiling, a dark ponytail flying behind her. She wears a high-collared coat, an earbud and a bag strap across one shoulder. Tall buildings close in on both sides, their walls hung with signs, and they narrow toward a pale sky. White flecks drift through the air. The whole scene is inked in manga style with grainy halftone.

Warm cream, charcoal and soft greys, like an old printed comic page. The tall buildings funnel the eye up to her face in the upper middle, while her dark coat fills the lower half. Larger prints bring out the grain and the hatching on the walls. It suits a bedroom, a reading nook or a wall of manga.
