Cat. 050.5 · Hummingbirds
Among Copper Roses
Wings fanned back mid-hover, a hummingbird with a rust-red throat and olive-green back aims its long bill at a copper lily just to its right. Big blooms crowd the margins: burnt-orange peonies and roses, cream camellias, clusters of dusty teal flowers and grey-green leaves. Two small orange butterflies flutter in the open upper centre. Every petal is shaded with fine engraved lines, like an old botanical plate.
Copper, cream and sage on a deep teal ground, a palette that feels like antique wallpaper. The flowers frame an open channel down the middle, and the bird sits just below centre where that channel widens. The engraving holds up well at 9 × 18 in. It suits a dining room, powder room or a calm entry.
Hangs well a dining room or a powder room
