Racetrack Scenes is drawn like a page from an animated film's art book: confident ink outlines, flat blues and slate greys, and clouds piled up as cream shapes with hand-laid shadow. The palette barely shifts from plate to plate, sky blue, asphalt grey, cloud cream and a single splash of red for the car, so the five read as one afternoon told in five panels.

Movement is drawn as much as depicted. In Hairpin and Helicopter a red chopper loops a white vapour trail across the sky while the car carves the bend far below; Low Pass brings a dark helicopter almost into the lens as the car slides by inside a whorl of speed lines. Main Straight plants you beside the pit wall with a marshal waving and flags snapping in the wind. Valley Circuit pulls right back to show the whole course, ribboned with blue and red streaks, laid out beneath a mountain with two helicopters overhead. Paddock Bend tucks the car among team tents, cables and a tall stand.

Each plate is tall and busy at the top, so this is not a set that saves a blank sky for the clock. Helicopters and cloud banks sit where the time goes, which turns out rather well: the digits become one more thing hovering over the circuit. For the cleanest read, Main Straight and Valley Circuit have the most open blue up high. Crowds and flags fill the bottom edge where the dock and app icons live, and the mid-tone blues favour white labels.

Meant for fans of hand-drawn animation, kids and grown-ups who still doodle racing cars in the margins, and anyone who prefers race day as a story rather than a timing sheet. Hairpin and Helicopter is free to download at full resolution; the other four plates are premium.
