No. 092, in six platesMinimalist Formula One
Six modern racing cars, and almost nothing else.
Where the louder rooms of the motorsport wing shout, this one edits. Minimalist Formula One draws modern single-seaters as flat vector shapes and lets three colours do all the talking: ink black, an old-paper cream and a crimson that turns up as a stripe, a nose cone or, once, an entire background. Shading comes in blocks, a reflection is a single pale band, and there is no crowd, no weather and no lettering worth squinting at.
Cream Curve sets a car head-on in black space with one cream arc sweeping up beside it, like a banked wall caught in headlights. In White on Bone the car is huge, pale and perfectly symmetrical against a plain cream ground. Between the Slabs frames a dark car with two tall cream blocks, and Reflection Pool turns a silver car side-on so that it floats above its own mirror image. Mesa Run is the only landscape: a small red car beneath a crimson mesa and teal ridges. Crimson Field flips the scheme entirely and lets red swallow the whole frame, the car pushed into the lower corner.
Every car sits in the lower half and every upper half is empty, which is exactly the arrangement a Lock Screen wants. Four of the six live on black or cream, so you can match the plate to your appearance setting: Cream Curve and Between the Slabs for dark mode, White on Bone or Mesa Run for light. Legibility is never a worry, and widgets get flat colour behind them rather than detail they would hide. On OLED screens the black plates read as true black, the cars appearing to hover on the glass.
It suits people who love racing cars but not the noise that usually comes with them, designers who keep a single tidy page of apps, and anyone who thinks a wallpaper should get out of the way. Cream Curve and White on Bone are free in full resolution; the other four are premium.
Take away the crowd and the car gets louder.
Try each one on before you save it.
Tap any plate to hang it on the Lock Screen, then switch to the Home Screen to see it behind your apps. This is the same preview the app gives you, on your own phone, with your own clock.
Every plate here can be ordered as an unframed matte print, from A$59 with free shipping. Or hang three side by side: any three plates from Minimalist Formula One, 8 × 16 in each, for A$179.

About Minimalist Formula One.
Which plates suit dark mode best?
Cream Curve, Between the Slabs and Reflection Pool are built on black, so they blend with a dark interface. White on Bone and Mesa Run are the light-mode partners.
Are the cars real team cars?
They are original illustrations of modern single-seaters, simplified to a few shapes. They do not reproduce any team's official livery or artwork.
Can I download all six for free?
Two of them: Cream Curve and White on Bone are free in full resolution. The other four are premium, 10 credits per car with re-downloads forever, or all six on Unlimited.
