Paper Currents

Broad curving bands overlap like cut paper laid in layers: a teal wave swinging in from the left, a hot pink band dipping across the middle, a mustard arch rising at the bottom right, and a burnt orange field across the top. Pockets of black sit in the gaps where the bands part. Every surface is mottled and grainy, like stencilled colour on weathered card.

Orange, magenta, mustard and teal on black make it loud, warm and handmade. The bands stack in tiers, so the eye zigzags down from orange to pink to the amber loop at the base. A big print shows off the mottled grain. It livens a white living room, a studio wall or a stairwell.
