No. 029, in twelve platesTea by the Sea
A pot of tea, a low table, and a sea so still it holds the whole sky upside down.
Every plate in Tea by the Sea is built from the same few elements and the same saturated retro palette: turquoise water, deep teal shadow, sand-coloured salt crust and a stripe of hot orange where the horizon burns. Outlines are fine and even, the colours flat and slightly faded, like the background paintings of a nineties animated film. Nothing moves, and that stillness is the point.
The table changes, the tea stays. A teal side table with a drawer holds a kettle and a single bowl on cracked white ground. A round glass-top table stands ankle-deep in clear water, a pot and a glass cup on top. One scene trades the teapot for a water bottle, two green cups and a pot of red flowers; another sets a wooden slatted cabinet afloat on its own reflection. The odd one out has no table at all, just a cube-shaped kettle with an orange handle mirrored in hexagonal tiles, and one plate swaps the clouds for a red sun sinking behind mountains.
The clouds and their reflections always fill the upper third, with the table and tea anchored low. The clock therefore lands on sky or on the horizon line, readable in white on most plates, while widgets settle over the glassy water. On the Home Screen the teapot sits around the dock, which is pleasingly literal, and the mid-teal ground holds white labels comfortably in light or dark mode.
For tea drinkers, fans of retro anime skies, and anyone who wants a phone that feels like a deep breath. Side Table, Black Kettle and Red Flowers are free in full resolution; the remaining nine are premium.
The water is so still you could set your cup down on the horizon.

About Tea by the Sea.
Is the sea in these plates real water or a salt flat?
It reads as both: cracked white crust in the foreground giving way to a perfectly flat sheet of water that mirrors the clouds, much like a salt lake after rain.
Does any Tea by the Sea plate leave out the tea?
Red Flowers swaps the teapot for a glass water bottle beside two green cups. Every other plate has a pot or kettle somewhere in frame.
