No. 015, in seventeen platesPeekaboo
Seventeen Siamese cats, one red wall, and the unshakeable sense that you are being watched.
Peekaboo is a single joke told seventeen ways, and it lands every time. A Siamese cat, inked in fine comic-book line with seal-brown points and cream fur, pops into a field of flat red. The red never changes and neither do the eyes: huge, round, glossy, fixed on whoever is holding the phone. The only variable is how the cat has arranged itself to get your attention.
Some hang their chins over a ledge, both paws gripping the edge. Others lean in from behind a door frame, one arm stretched across the screen towards you with the toes spread. A few have given up on dignity entirely and lie upside down, paws in the air. In one plate a cat waves over a white bar like a commuter hailing a bus; in another the head pushes through a square hole, pink claws out. Several plates are close cousins, so pick the pose that suits your mood that week.
The cats nearly always enter from the sides or the lower half, leaving the top third of the screen as clean red. That is where the clock goes, and black or white numerals both read clearly on it. On the Home Screen the red is loud, so white labels are the safer choice; the face tends to land around the middle rows, which makes it fun to leave a gap in your icons for the eyes to look through.
For cat people, Siamese owners in particular, and anyone who likes a phone with a sense of humour and a strong colour. Sideways Hello, Over the Top, The Reach and Paw Pad peek out free in full resolution; the other thirteen cats are premium.
The wall is red, the eyes are enormous, and the paw is already on its way.
Try each one on before you save it.
Tap any plate to hang it on the Lock Screen, then switch to the Home Screen to see it behind your apps. This is the same preview the app gives you, on your own phone, with your own clock.
Every plate here can be ordered as an unframed matte print, from A$59 with free shipping. Or hang three side by side: any three plates from Peekaboo, 8 × 16 in each, for A$179.

About Peekaboo.
Are all the cats in Peekaboo Siamese?
Yes. Every plate shows the same breed, with cream fur, dark seal-brown points and big round eyes, always against a red background.
Is the red too bright for a Home Screen?
It is a strong red, so it works best with white app labels and a few icons rather than a crowded grid. For something calmer, the plates where the cat sits low leave more open colour up top.
