No. 027, in six platesThe Slick Cat
One white cat, one teal wall, and the sort of posture most of us only manage in photos.
These are flat-colour paintings in the mid-century poster manner: no outlines, just shapes of white, teal and shadow fitted together with a draughtsman's patience. The cat is always the same lithe white animal with pale pink ears, and the setting is always a wall of turquoise meeting a floor of a slightly different blue. Change the light, change the pose, keep everything else.
Across the six plates the cat does very little and makes it look like a performance. It stretches its neck towards something high and out of frame, sits square to the viewer with a faintly judging stare, and turns its back to look over one shoulder at the wall. In the plate called Shelf Life it is small, sitting on a sideboard beside a potted lavender, with books and houseplants arranged on a floating shelf above.
Because the walls are plain and the cat sits in the lower half, the top of every plate is open teal. The time lands on clean colour with nothing behind it, and white numerals hold up well against the mid-tone blue. The bright white body sits roughly where widgets would go on a Home Screen, so the cleaner choice there is a single row of icons and a clear middle. Dark mode suits the deeper teal plates best.
It will appeal to lovers of white cats, minimal interiors and colour-matched phones. Shelf Life is free to download in full resolution. The other five are premium: unlock any one for 10 credits and keep re-downloading it, or take the whole set with a pxCream Unlimited subscription.
The cat holds the pose; the wall does nothing to distract it.

About The Slick Cat.
Which Slick Cat plate can I try before unlocking anything?
Shelf Life, the cat on the sideboard with the potted lavender. It is free in full resolution, and the remaining five unlock with credits or Unlimited.
Does the white cat get lost against a light Home Screen?
Not really, because the walls are mid-tone teal rather than pale. Over the Shoulder has the deepest blue if you want the most contrast.
