No. 024, in eight platesTribal Sunset
Eyes in the sky, trees made of fingerprints, and a coral sunset that never quite finishes setting.
Tribal Sunset borrows the look of a seventies screen-printed poster: flat coral and salmon skies, a mustard gold traced in tight parallel lines, and inky black for everything that needs weight. Most plates sit inside a thin border, so each one reads like a card pulled from an imaginary tarot deck. The recurring symbols, eyes, suns, clouds and trees, keep the eight feeling like chapters of the same strange book.
Eyes are everywhere. One hangs over a sea of teal clouds with a diamond for a pupil and gold rays bursting behind it; another stares from a hillside of pastel stripes while smaller eyes peep out of the ground. A tree grows a canopy of looping lines like an enormous fingerprint, and a second tree sprouts dark spiral clouds hung with pendulums. Elsewhere a totem of stacked blocks climbs towards a bowl with an eye inside, a rock island floats above a grey sea, and six cubes marked with glyphs tower out of the clouds.
These are dense pictures, and the detail often reaches up to the top edge, so the clock will sit over line work in several plates. The calmest tops belong to the looping tree and the floating island, where open sky gives the time room. The black borders and dark frames help widgets stand out, and the warm mid-tones take white Home Screen labels well, though a light layout can look busy against all that pattern.
Made for fans of psychedelic posters, mystic symbolism and retro occult art, or anyone who wants a phone that looks like it reads palms. The Totem and Fingerprint Tree are free in full resolution; the other six are premium.

About Tribal Sunset.
What do the symbols in Tribal Sunset mean?
They are invented rather than taken from any real tradition: eyes, suns, glyphs and trees arranged for mood, not to spell out a message. Read into them whatever you like.
Which plate is least busy behind the clock?
Fingerprint Tree and Floating Isle both leave a stretch of plain coral or olive sky at the top, so the time stays easy to read.
