No. 003, in eleven platesArt Nouveau
Everything here is made of line: the wind, the trees, the smoke, even the silence between two people at a window.
Nothing in this room is shaded with a brush. Each plate is built from fine parallel strokes, like a banknote engraving that has come loose and started to curl, and the whiplash curves are what earn the Art Nouveau name. The inks barely change from one work to the next: soot black, a mossy olive, a cold petrol teal and a gold that runs from pale straw to full yolk. That narrow palette is what lets eleven quite strange pictures hang together.
The scenes lean surreal. A man in a long coat stands with his hands behind his back while a whirlwind spins open above him. Two men in bowler hats sit at a brass contraption, their heads sprouting into golden trees. A pair of electricity pylons is drawn as if knitted from fingerprints. Elsewhere a river pours down a cliff in white threads beneath a gnarled bough, cable cars climb past falling leaves, and an older couple pause by a shop window while a tree of gold billows out of it.
Most plates keep their darkest ink near the top, so the clock sits on near-black with plenty of contrast. The busier ones, such as the wall of swirling strokes dotted with tiny workers, carry detail right to the edges; pick those for the Home Screen, where icons break up the pattern, and save the whirlwind or the pylons for the Lock Screen. Because the ground is so dark, white labels read cleanly and dark mode suits the whole set.
It suits people who like a phone that looks like a print shop drawer: fans of engraving, of Jugendstil posters and of dreamlike pictures that reward a second look. Three plates are free in full resolution, and the remaining eight are premium.
Even the smoke has been engraved, one patient line at a time.
Try each one on before you save it.
Tap any plate to hang it on the Lock Screen, then switch to the Home Screen to see it behind your apps. This is the same preview the app gives you, on your own phone, with your own clock.
Every plate here can be ordered as an unframed matte print, from A$59 with free shipping. Or hang three side by side: any three plates from Art Nouveau, 8 × 16 in each, for A$179.

How Art Nouveau wears.
Dreamlike, intricate, nocturnal, uncanny. Engraved line illustration in gold and black, sized for every iPhone up to 2160 × 4800.
On the Lock Screen
The Whirlwind keeps a dark swirl behind the time and the lone figure well below it.
On the Home Screen
Pylons in Gold sets bright towers against a black sky, so white icon labels never fight the art.
Full resolution, every model
Each plate is delivered at the exact size of your iPhone's screen, up to 2160 × 4800, so nothing is stretched or soft at the edges.

About Art Nouveau.
Is this classic Art Nouveau with lilies and long-haired muses?
Not quite. The flowing whiplash line is there, but the subjects are surreal and modern: pylons, cable cars, a train, men in bowler hats. Think engraved storybook rather than floral poster.
Which Art Nouveau plate is the calmest?
The Whirlwind and Pylons in Gold have the most open dark space. Workers in the Swirl is the busiest, with pattern from edge to edge.
Do I need to pay for any of them?
Not for The Whirlwind, River of Threads or Two Gentlemen Blooming, which are free. The other eight are premium: 10 credits each in the pxCream app, re-downloadable forever, or all included with Unlimited.
