No. 086, in twelve platesLife It Says
One word, set enormous in red, and a handful of small people underneath it getting on with things.
Every plate here is laid out like a 1970s film poster: a slab of flat cobalt sky, a title in heavy red capitals, a strip of landscape with a few tiny figures, and a block of tiny billing text at the foot. That small print is pure texture, not real names, and the title is always the same word. Only the typeface moves, from condensed capitals to a rounded lowercase script to a leaning italic, which keeps twelve versions of one idea from feeling repetitive.
Underneath the letters, ordinary life goes on. A man in a tan jacket walks away across dry grass. A group pulls over on a dirt road beside a red saloon. Riders and their motorbikes line a ridge. On a lakeside promenade with mountains across the water, people stroll past a parked scooter. A man in a blue jacket leans on a railing beside a small child; in that plate the lettering slips and reads LIRE, a happy accident we have left alone. Elsewhere a lone walker heads down a road straight through the red letterforms, and a single figure stands on an empty beach.
Because the sky takes up the top half of most plates, the clock lands on clean blue, often directly above or across the red title. Pick a plate where the word sits lower, such as Dirt Road Stop, if you want the time clear of the lettering. On the Home Screen the blue reads mid-dark, so white labels hold up, and the cream band of small print falls neatly behind the dock.
Good for film buffs, graphic design fans and anyone who likes a little encouragement every time they unlock. Blue Over Red, The Lone Walker and Lowercase are free to download in full resolution; the other nine are premium.
The title never changes. The people underneath it always do.

About Life It Says.
Is the small print at the bottom readable?
No. Like the billing block on a film poster, it is there for texture and balance. Only the big word is meant to be read.
Will the red LIFE lettering clash with my clock?
In a few plates the title sits right where the time goes. Dirt Road Stop, Lakeside Promenade and Hatchback Street place the word lower, leaving open sky up top.
How much are they?
Blue Over Red, The Lone Walker and Lowercase are free, in full resolution. The other nine are premium: 10 credits each in the pxCream app, yours to re-download forever, or all twelve with Unlimited.
