No. 049, in six platesFerrari 355 Japan
A black 355 in black water, and one red mark glowing underneath to prove the lights are on.
Ferrari 355 Japan is almost entirely darkness. The frames read like grainy night photographs pushed hard in the darkroom: blacks crushed flat, a cold green cast on every highlight, and paintwork you only notice where it catches a sliver of light. Against all that, each plate carries a single accent, a few red characters drawn in a Japanese manner and set low in the frame like a stamp or a neon sign seen through rain.
The car is a Ferrari 355, and despite the red lettering it is not red at all but a deep bottle green that passes for black. Wading Through sends it ploughing across rippling water at an angle. Straight Down and Afloat look at it from directly overhead, roof panel and slatted engine cover catching the glare off a wet surface. Mist Lane is the softest of the six, the car parked under a pale drift of fog with its red glyphs lying on the tarmac like a road marking.
On a phone the darkness does most of the work. The upper third of every plate is close to pure black, so the Lock Screen clock floats there with nothing to fight, and on an OLED iPhone those pixels stay switched off. The car fills the middle and the red characters sit near the foot of the screen, which means the dock will cover them on the Home Screen; if you want the red to show, use a plate like Three Glyphs, where the column of characters sits a little higher.
It suits drivers who prefer their cars at midnight, minimalists who want a dark screen with one point of colour, and anyone who likes film grain more than gloss. Wading Through and Straight Down are free in full resolution; the other four are premium. The artwork is original to pxCream and has no connection to Ferrari.
The car is black, the water is black, and the only colour in the room is a red signature.

How Ferrari 355 Japan wears.
Nocturnal, brooding, sleek, grainy. Dark, grainy night photography with red lettering, sized for every iPhone up to 2160 × 4800.
On the Lock Screen
Near-black water across the top lets a white clock float clear, with the car gliding beneath it.
On the Home Screen
Dark enough for OLED and dark mode; the red characters sit low, so the dock covers them on most plates.
Full resolution, every model
Each plate is delivered at the exact size of your iPhone's screen, up to 2160 × 4800, so nothing is stretched or soft at the edges.

About Ferrari 355 Japan.
What do the red characters say?
They are drawn as decorative Japanese-style marks rather than a written message, so treat them as a red signature on each print, not a caption to translate.
Why does the car look black when the photos are called Ferrari?
This 355 is painted a very deep green, and the heavy shadows push it close to black. Only the rims of the bodywork pick up a cool green sheen, which is what keeps the series so dark and so easy on an OLED screen.
