No. 016, in nineteen platesSummer Jungle
Nineteen gig posters for a summer that refuses to leave: big cats, big type, and more monstera than any greenhouse could hold.
Summer Jungle borrows the language of the festival poster. Each plate stacks the same three layers: a wall of monstera and palm fronds in bottle green and teal, a single animal lit as if a spotlight had broken through the canopy, and the word SUMMER slashed across it in white brush script. Deep shadow fills the corners, so the greens glow and the oranges of fur and beak run hot.
The cast rotates like a line-up. Three lions, one gazing up into the light and one half lost behind the lettering; four elephants, the best of them walking straight out of a sunlit clearing; four giraffes, one peering down with a friendly squint. There are two toucans, a scorpion curled over the type, a thoughtful chimpanzee, a pair of monkeys in sunglasses, and a snouted, tapir-ish creature in heart-shaped shades on the plate that spells out COOL. The tiny print around the edges is decoration rather than text, the way the small print on a gig poster blurs from across the street.
On a phone, the lettering decides everything. In most plates the word sits in the lower half, leaving the animal's head and the canopy above for the clock. Where SUMMER runs across the top, as on both toucan plates, the time will share space with it, so save those for the Home Screen. The black bands along the bottom of many prints sit neatly under the dock, and white labels hold up well against all that green.
This is a set for people who like their phone loud from the first hot weekend to the last: plant obsessives, sunburnt optimists, anyone who thinks a lion ought to look like a headliner. Five of the nineteen, Lion Looking Up, The Headliner, Grey Giant, Giraffe in the Canopy and Lion Behind the Script, are free in full resolution; the rest are premium.
Every animal gets top billing; the monstera plays the support act.

About Summer Jungle.
Which Summer Jungle plates keep the lettering out of the clock's way?
The Headliner, Elephant in the Clearing and The Thinker all set SUMMER in the lower half, leaving the top of the screen for the time. The two toucan plates put the word up high and suit a Home Screen better.
Do the words on the posters say anything?
Only SUMMER and COOL are meant to be read. The small marks and lines of type around the edges are decorative texture, like the fine print on a poster pasted to a wall.
